Between us flows a beauty
neither of us could create.
A love that feels from somewhere far away
has made a home amongst us.
And all we do is hold it
and hold on to the waves
that crash and roll around us
of something free and strange.
How it found us, why it chose us, how long it will remain
are all minor details compare to the question that I cling to
as we move in each others grace.
How do I protect this most delicate and sublime gift
delivered to my heart?
Like an ancient family heirloom
I know its not from this world.
Something made of far more than magic
and older than my soul.
All I have to wrap around us
and protect us from this world
is my everlasting gratitude
for each tear that wets my cheek
overflowing from within me of overwhelming joy.
